The concept of true “Theatre on Ice”, (full length productions designed to fit theatre stages) was born in 1993 when Vee Deplidge created a company which toured the U.K. to considerable acclaim with a unique production of The Sleeping Beauty on Ice. Using professional Russian ice skaters of incredibly high standard, (many former competitors at National, European, World and Olympic level) combined with world famous coaches and choreographers, including Tatiana Tarasova, Igor Moskvin and Cav Giuseppe Arena, collectively the troupe is known as The Russian Ice Stars.

Productions of Cinderella, Phantom of the Opera, Carmen, Peter Pan, Snow White, Beauty & The Beast, Nutcracker, the critically acclaimed “Cirque de Glace”, described by Circus Mania as “knocking Cirque de Soleil into a cocked hat” and “as Flashy as Vegas” by the Times, followed.

They also collaborated with various members of TV’s hit show, Dancing on Ice, to produce the arena tour “Celebrities on Ice” with such stars as Christopher Biggins, Beth Tweddle, Chico, Matt Lapinskas, Gareth Thomas and a host of pro skaters for the TV show, including 3 times winner Daniel Whiston and Brianne Delcourt.

Over the past 27 years they have become known as the world’s leading ice show producers entertaining royalty, presidents and a countless number of children in more than 30 countries, over 6 continents and as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Indonesia and Brazil.

Highlights include the opening ceremony of a $135m Ice Stadium for the President of Turkmenistan, a royal performance for several members of the Jordanian Royal Family, including several real-life Princesses who hugely enjoyed meeting the cast on the ice after the show. A stunning performance of Peter Pan on Ice for the late Prince Rainier of Monaco at the home of Circus, Le Chapiteau, followed several years later by a performance at the newly built Grimaldi Forum in the principality. They are also known for their new and exciting style of large arena shows at the Blaisdell Arena, Honolulu and a sell-out 6 show run at the world famous 20,000 seat Bercy arena, Paris.

Even during the height of the pandemic, they safely and successfully staged a run of performances at the prestigious Dubai Opera in December 2020. Once again proving they are trailblazers of innovative solutions to present a wonderful evening of entertainment in a safe environment.
